Our Core Values

Our Core Values The Core Values of a church shape what, and who, that church is. AHOFBC has eight Core Values that give emphasis to who we are and each of these Core Values are established upon Biblical principles.

Local & Global Evangelism

The Church should be inflamed with the message of salvation and always eager to share it with all who are lost in both a personal and public manner. (Matt. 9:11-13; Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16)

Relevant Preaching & Life Changing Worship

The Word of God should be preached and taught in an uncompromising fashion without hesitation, yet with sensitivity and relevance. (Rom. 10:14-17; II Cor. 4:5-7)

Practical Ministry To Those Hurting

The Church exists to perpetuate the work and mission of Jesus Christ on the earth until He returns. Jesus was in love with the lost and was consumed with compassion for the bruised, the broken, and the bound. The Church must be a citadel of hope for a lost and hurting world. We’re consumed with love and passion for those who are broken, bruised, or bound by life; this moves us to service. (Matt. 25:41-45, Rom 5:8, Lam. 3:21-23)

Loving Fellowship in an Authentic Community

The primary form of the Church is that it is a “family” of believers. The Church should express the love of Christ both among believers and unbelievers alike. Discipleship and Christian development is best done in a close, family environment. We grow and mature best as our lives intersect each other. This healthy interchange of relational discipleship is best done as the scripture designed it – within the context of a “Family”. (John 17:11-22; Gal. 6:1-2; Psalms 133:1)

The Authority of Scripture

The Word of God is the final authority and guide in all matters of life. It is to be the sole premise of all areas of Christian faith and should be clearly and effectively taught with daily application as its goal. We believe that the Scriptures are not merely to be appreciated as literature, a work of history, or moral wisdom, but rather they are the very Words of God given to us for practical, righteous and fulfilled living; and so we value them as such. (II Tim. 3:16; James 1:22-25; John 1:1-3,14)

Every Member Faithfully Tithing

Giving to spiritual work and ministry through the arm of the local church is both a privilege and a responsibility for all believers. Membership in a local church is naturally connected to financial stewardship and support. Our financial gifts and support enable the church, which is the visible extension of the hands of Christ, to be effective and fruitful in ministering His love to humanity.(Mal. 3:8-12; Acts 2:44-47)
